The Clemson Tigers and the Florida State Seminoles meet Saturday in college basketball action from Donald L. Tucker Center. 

Clemson comes in here at 9-3 so far. The Tigers have lost consecutive games to Virginia and Georgia Tech. As for Florida State, they’re sitting at 8-2 this season. Clemson opened the year with wins over Mississippi State, Purdue, SC State, Maryland and Alabama before falling to Virginia Tech. After another four victories against Morehead State, Florida State, Miami and NC State the Tigers have lost to Virginia and Georgia Tech in their last pair. 

In the 83-65 loss to the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday, Clemson’s Aamir Simms put up 19 points with five rebounds and three assists. Clyde Trapp added 14 points with seven boards and one assist, and John Newman posted 12 points with four rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the Florida State side, they began with four straight wins versus North Florida, Indiana, Florida and Georgia Tech. After splitting their next pair of games, the Seminoles fell to Clemson then beat NC State, North Carolina and Louisville in the next trio of outings. 

In Monday’s 78-65 win over Louisville, Florida State’s Raiquan Gray led the team 17 points with eight rebounds and two assists. Wyatt Wilkes provided 12 points with three boards in 16 minutes, while MJ Walker put up 10 assists, five boards and two points for the Seminoles. 

The Seminoles are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 overall. The over is 4-0 in Florida State’s last four overall and 14-3 in their last 17 Saturday games. 

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games overall. Clemson is 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Saturday games and the over is 5-0 in their last five overall. 

PICK: I’m going to take a shot on Florida State here. The Seminoles have been playing well in their last three, with 78 or more points in each. The last time these teams met Clemson pulled off a 77-67 win, but Florida State shot a decent 41.9 percent from the field and had a five-point halftime lead. I like the Seminoles to put together a better outing here and bang out a cover. Should be a great game to watch.
