The Oregon State Beavers and the Oregon Ducks meet Saturday in college basketball action from Matthew Knight Arena. 

Oregon State enters this one at 7-5 overall. The Beavers have won consecutive games over Arizona State and USC. As for the Ducks, they’re 9-2 this year. Oregon State began their season at 2-3 with losses to Washington State, Wyoming and Portland. After a three-game win streak, the Beavers fell to Stanford and Arizona in consecutive games. Since then it’s been a pair of wins for Oregon State versus Arizona State and USC. 

In Tuesday’s 58-56 win over the Trojans, Oregon State’s Ethan Thompson and Jarod Lucas were the only players on the team to finish in double-figures. Each player had 13 points, and the duo combined for two assists and five rebounds as well. 

Over on the Oregon side, they lost to Missouri in their opener but then took out Seton Hall, Eastern WA, Florida A&M, Washington, San Francisco, Portland, California and Stanford during an impressive run. After a seven-point loss to Colorado the Ducks beat Utah in their last game. 

In the 79-73 win over the Utes on January 9, Oregon’s Chris Duarte led the wagon 25 points with three rebounds and two assists. Eric Williams added 19 points with six boards and one assists and LJ Figueroa chipped in 15 points with one assist and three rebounds in 29 minutes. 

The Ducks are 5-1 ATS in their last six Saturday games and 35-16 ATS in their last 51 home games. Oregon is 36-17 ATS in their last 53 games overall and the over is 12-5 in their last 17 overall. 

Meanwhile, the Beavers are 4-0 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. Oregon State is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games versus a team with a winning road record and the over is 5-2 in their last seven road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Oregon State here, but probably staying away from this one. The Beavers have looked pretty good over their last five games despite a couple of losses, notching 71 or more points in three of those five. As for Oregon, they’ve had a couple of close games in their last pair against teams they probably should have handled better. I think the Beavers can get in there for a cover, and this should be a fun game to watch.
