The Purdue Boilermakers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Williams Arena.

Purdue enters this one at 13-7 so far. The Boilermakers are 2-1 in their last three games and coming off a win over Northwestern. As for Minnesota, they’re 12-7 this year. The Gophers stopped a three-game losing streak by taking out Nebraska in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Purdue started out their year at 7-5 heading into January. Since then the Boilermakers have gone 6-2 in their last eight games. The losses have come to Michigan and Maryland, and Purdue has otherwise beaten Michigan State, Indiana, Penn State, Ohio State, Minnesota and Northwestern.

In the 75-70 win over Northwestern on Saturday, Purdue’s Jaden Ivey led the team with 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Zach Edey added a double-double on 12 points with 11 rebounds, and Brandon Newman chipped in 10 points with three boards.

Over on the Gophers’ side, they were sitting at 10-2 when the calendar year began but since have gone 2-5. Minnesota has lost to Michigan, Iowa, Maryland, Purdue and Rutgers in that stretch with wins over Michigan and Nebraska.

In the 79-61 win over Nebraska on Monday, Minnesota’s Marcus Carr put up 21 points with eight assists and two rebounds in 19 minutes. Brandon Johnson added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Jamal Mashburn Jr. scored 11 points.

The Gophers are 7-1 ATS in their last eight home games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games. The under is 8-2 in Minnesota’s last 10 overall and 5-0 in their last five home games.

Meanwhile, the Boilermakers are 4-0-1 ATS in their last five road games and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine overall. Purdue is 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 Thursday games and the under is 4-1 in their last five road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Purdue. The last time these teams met up was an 81-62 Purdue win. The Boilermakers shot 47.4 percent from the floor and collected 44 rebounds to the Gophers’ 27. It wasn’t a great game for Minnesota, and they scored just 27 in the second half. I think the Gophers will play better here but still like Purdue to eke out a cover/win.
