North Alabama vs Bellarmine College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/12/21

The Bellarmine Knights and the North Alabama Lions meet Friday in college basketball action from Flowers Hall. 

Bellarmine enters this one at 11-5 so far. The Knights are riding an eight-game win streak and coming off a victory over Jacksonville. As for North Alabama, they’re 10-6 this year. Bellarmine came into the year at a fairly shaky 3-5 with losses to Duke, Chattanooga, Notre Dame and Lipscomb. Since then it’s been eight straight wins for the Knights over Florida Gulf Coast, Stetson, Kennesaw State and Jacksonville. 

In the 63-44 win over the Dolphins on Saturday, Bellarmine’s Pedro Bradshaw led the team on a double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Dylan Penn added 12 points with four rebounds and three assists and Ethan Claycomb chipped in eight points. 

Over on the North Alabama side, they were sitting at 4-3 after seven games with losses to Troy, Indiana and Stetson. The Lions then got wins over Stetson, Kennesaw State, Jacksonville and North Florida before falling in three straight to the Ospreys and Florida Gulf Coast. 

In the 69-60 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, North Alabama’s Mervin James was the leading scorer with his 12 points, two rebounds and one assist in 16 minutes. Emanuel Littles added a double-double on 10 points with 10 rebounds and two assists. 

Bellarmine is 4-0 ATS in their last four Friday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. The Knights are 5-1 ATS in their last six games as a favorite and 7-1 ATS in their last eight games overall. 

Meanwhile, the Lions are 2-5 ATS in their last seven Friday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall. North Alabama is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games after an ATS loss and the over is 7-1 in their last eight Friday games. 

PICK: I like Bellarmine to keep it going here. The Knights have been on a tear lately, notching 71 or more points in four of their last five games. There have been a couple of relative close calls in this win streak but for the most part Bellarmine is playing well. I think North Alabama can keep the pace for a while in this one but I like the Knights to power out a cover.
