Tennessee State vs Eastern Kentucky College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/13/21

The Eastern Kentucky Colonels and the Tennessee State Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gentry Complex. 

Eastern Kentucky enters this one at 15-5 so far. The Colonels are 1-3 in their last four games and coming off a loss to Belmont. As for Tennessee State, they’re 3-15 this year. Eastern Kentucky opened their season on a nice 14-2 run with losses to Xavier and Morehead State. Since then it’s been a 1-3 stretch for the Colonels however. They’ve beaten SIU Edwardsville while falling otherwise to Austin Peay, Murray State and Belmont. 

In the 92-74 loss to Belmont on Thursday, Eastern Kentucky’s Cheikh Faye posted 12 points with two rebounds in 18 minutes on the floor. Russhard Cruickshank was the only other team player in double-figures there with 11 points, three rebounds and one assist. 

Over on the Tennessee State side, they’ve had trouble finding victories this year and haven’t been able to win two in a row yet. Since the last win, the Tigers have fallen to Murray State, Austin Peay, SIU Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois and Morehead State. 

In the 79-66 loss to Morehead State on Thursday, Tennessee State’s Shakem Johnson put up 18 points with five rebounds in 33 minutes. Ravel Moody added 14 points with three rebounds and three assists and Mark Freeman had 12 points with four rebounds and three assists. 

The Tigers are 0-5 ATS in their last five overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four after a straight-up loss. Tennessee State is 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 Saturday games and the under is 24-6 in their last 30 overall.
Meanwhile, the Colonels are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. Eastern Kentucky is 7-3-2 ATS in their last 12 Saturday games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Eastern Kentucky here. The Colonels haven’t looked that great over their last four games, but they’ve hit 74 or more points in three of them and are still scoring fairly well. Tennessee State has been above 66 in just one of their last eight games, and I don’t think they’ve got the gas to keep up.
