The Oklahoma Sooners and the West Virginia Mountaineers meet Saturday in college basketball action from WVU Coliseum.

Oklahoma enters this one at 12-5 so far. The Sooners are 6-1 in their last seven games and coming off a win over Iowa State. As for West Virginia, they’re 14-5 this season. The Mountaineers have won three straight, most recently over Texas Tech. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oklahoma began the season at 6-4 with losses to Xavier, Texas Tech, Baylor and Kansas. Five wins over TCU, Kansas State, Kansas, Texas and Alabama followed before a loss to Texas Tech. The Sooners managed a seven-point win over Iowa State in their last game.

In the 79-72 win last weekend over Iowa State, Oklahoma’s Elijah Harkless put up 19 points with six rebounds. Umoja Gibson added 18 points with five boards, and Brady Manek pulled down 15 rebounds with nine points and four assists in 32 minutes of action.

Over on the West Virginia side, their year began at 9-4 with losses to Gonzaga, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Since then the Mountaineers are 5-1, falling to Florida and beating Kansas State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Kansas and Texas Tech again in that time.

In the 82-71 win over Texas Tech on Tuesday, West Virginia’s Sean McNeil put up 26 points with one rebound, and Miles McBride added 20 points with four assists and three rebounds. Derek Culver chipped in on 15 points with eight rebounds in 25 minutes on the floor.

West Virginia is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The over is 5-0 in the Mountaineers’ last five overall and 4-0 in their last four home games.

Meanwhile, the Sooners are 6-17-1 ATS in their last 24 as a road favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games. Oklahoma is 7-1 ATS in their last eight overall and the under is 10-4 in the last 14 overall.

PICK: I’m going to take West Virginia here. The last time these teams met up was back on January 2 in a 75-71 Oklahoma victory. Both teams shot pretty well in that one with 40.0 percent for the Mountaineers and 42.2 percent for the Sooners. Oklahoma held the edge in rebounds 41-36 and team assists 17-13. West Virginia has been scoring quite well since then and I think this one will be another great game. I think the Mountaineers can bang out a revenge cover as well.
