Ball State vs Bowling Green College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/16/21

The Bowling Green Falcons and the Ball State Cardinals meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Worthen Arena. 

Bowling Green enters this game at 11-9 so far. The Falcons broke a six-game losing streak with a win over Toledo in their last outing. As for Ball State, they’re 7-9 this year. Bowling Green started out the year on a nice 10-3 clip with losses to Michigan, Wright State and Ball State. After a string of losses to Akron, Miami-OH, Kent State, Toledo, Western Michigan and Kent State again, the Falcons bagged a win over Toledo. 

In Saturday’s 88-81 win over Toledo, Bowling Green’s Daeqwon Plowden put up 22 points with nine rebounds and two assists. Justin Turner added 21 points with five rebounds and two assets, and Trey Diggs had 17 points with four boards. 

Over on the Ball State side, they came out of the gate at 4-5 with losses to Northern Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana State, Ohio and Buffalo. Since then it’s been a 3-4 run for the Cardinals with wins over Bowling Green, Northern Illinois and Toledo. 

In the February 6 win over the Rockets, Ball State’s top scorer was Jarron Coleman with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Luke Bumbalough had 14 points with four assists and three boards, and Brachen Hazen doubled up on 12 points with 11 rebounds. 

The Cardinals are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven Tuesday games. Ball State is 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and the over is 16-5 in their last 21 overall. 

Meanwhile, the Falcons are 3-13-1 ATS in their last 17 Tuesday games and 1-6 ATS in their last seven overall. Bowling Green is 5-2 ATS in the last seven road games and the under is 5-2 in their last seven Tuesday games. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Ball State here. The last time these teams met up on January 12, it was an 88-64 Cardinals win in fairly dominant fashion. Ball State jumped out to a 43-36 edge at the break and poured in another 45 points from there. This one may not be quite so lopsided, but I still like the Cardinals better on a cover.
