The South Carolina Gamecocks and the Tennessee Volunteers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Thompson-Boling Arena.

South Carolina enters this one at 5-9 so far. The Gamecocks have lost three straight, most recently to Ole Miss. As for the Volunteers, they’re 14-5 this year. Tennessee is 2-1 in their last three games and coming off a loss to LSU. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

South Carolina has been shaky most of the year and they’ve only been able to string together consecutive wins once so far. Since their latest win over Florida on February 3, the Gamecocks have lost three straight to Mississippi State, Alabama and Ole Miss.

In the 81-74 loss to the Rebels, South Carolina’s AJ Lawson led the team on 22 points with seven rebounds and two assists. Wildens Leveque added 13 points, and Trae Hannibal had 12 points with four assists and one rebound in 18 minutes.
Over on the Tennessee side, their year started out smoothly at 10-1 with a loss to Alabama. Since then the Volunteers are 4-4 with wins over Mississippi State, Kansas, Kentucky and Georgia alongside losses to Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss and LSU.

In the 78-65 loss to LSU on Saturday, Tennessee’s Jaden Springer led the team on 21 points with seven assists and six rebounds. Santiago Vescovi added 13 points with three boards and two assists, and Keon Johnson put up 10 points with three boards.

The Volunteers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight overall. The under is 5-0 in Tennessee’s last five Tuesday games and the over is 5-1 in their last six home games.
Meanwhile, the Gamecocks are 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS loss and 11-4 in their last 15 road games versus a team with a winning home record. The over is 4-0 in South Carolina’s last four Tuesday games and the under is 9-4 in their last 13 versus a team with a winning straight up record.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Tennessee here. The Volunteers have been a little shaky on offense lately, notching 65 or fewer points in five of their last eight outings. South Carolina has given up 75 or more points in each of their last three, so this should be a good chance for Tennessee to stretch their legs on the scoreboard. If the Volunteers can get off to a quick start here and keep a good scoring rhythm going I like them on a cover.
