Eastern Michigan vs Bowling Green College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/23/21

The Bowling Green Falcons and the Eastern Michigan Eagles meet Tuesday in college basketball action from EMU Convocation Center. 

Bowling Green enters this one at 12-9 so far. The Falcons have won their last two games versus Toledo and Ball State. As for Eastern Michigan, they’re 4-9 this season. Bowling Green kicked off their year on a nice 9-2 run, but they’ve only won three games since then. In that stretch, the Falcons have taken losses to Ball State, Akron, Miami-OH, Kent State, Toledo, Western Michigan and Kent State alongside wins over Buffalo, Toledo and Ball State.

In the February 16 win over Ball State 75-62, Bowling Green’s Justin Turner put up 27 points with three rebounds and three assists. Kaden Metheny added 21 points with three boards and two assists, while Caleb Fields pulled down 10 rebounds. 

Over on the Eastern Michigan side, they were sitting at .500 as recently as January 14 after a win over Calvin. Since that victory the Eagles have lost five straight games, dropping to Central Michigan, Buffalo, Miami-OH, Akron and Kent State. 

In the 64-51 loss to Kent State on Saturday, Eastern Michigan’s Yeikson Montero led the team with 15 points, three rebounds and two assists. Ty Groce added 13 points with eight rebounds and Miles Gibson put up 12 points with five rebounds and three assists. 

The Eagles are 1-4-1 ATS in their last six home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five Tuesday games. Eastern Michigan is 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 overall and the over is 9-3 in their last 12 overall. 

Meanwhile, the Falcons are 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games. Bowling Green is 5-2 ATS in their last seven after a straight-up win and the over is 22-10 in their last 32 road games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Bowling Green. the Falcons have had a rough stretch during this 2-6 run, but generally they’re still scoring pretty well. Bowling Green has hit 70 or more in five of their last seven outings. As for Eastern Michigan, they’ve been at 65 or below in their last three. If the Falcons come out firing and find a good offensive rhythm in this one the cover should be there.
