DePaul vs Georgetown College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/27/21

The Georgetown Hoyas and the Depaul Blue Demons meet in college basketball action from Wintrust Arena on Friday night.

The Georgetown Hoyas will be looking to bounce back from a 70-57 loss to UConn iast time out. Jahvon Blair leads the Hoyas in scoring and assists with 15.8 PPG and 4.3 APG while Jamorko Pickett has 12.6 PPG with 8.1 RPG and Qudus Wahab has 12.1 PPG with a team-high 8.2 RPG to lead the Hoyas on the glass and to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Georgetown heading into Saturday’s matchup with DePaul. Chudier Bile also has 9.4 PPG and 4.9 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Georgetown is 71.3 averaging 42.5% shooting from the field, 36.1% from the 3-point line and 74.6% from the foul line while allowing 73.2 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range this season.

The DePaul Blue Demons will look to bounce back from a 77-53 loss to the Creighton Bluejays last time out. Charlie Moore leads the Blue Demons in scoring with 14.2 PPG as well as in assists with 4.3 APG while Javon Freeman-Liberty has 13.4 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 2.9 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for DePaul up to this point in the season. Pauly Paulicap also has 7.1 PPG and 6.1 RPG as well to lead the Blue Demons on the glass this season. As a team, DePaul is averaging65.9 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 31.8% from 3-point range and 66.3% from the foul line while allowing 71.1 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field and 31.1% from 3-point range this season.

I’m not trying to back either team here, as Georgetown’s been inconsistent all season and while the head-to-head trends favor DePaul, the Blue Demons haven’t been worth backing for much of anything this season either. Instead, I’m going to side with the under as the Blue Demons have played in a ton of low-scoring affairs and Georgetown’s no prize offensively either. Give me the under in this one.
