The Jackson State Tigers and the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils meet Saturday in college basketball action from Harrison HPER Complex.

Jackson State comes into this game at 7-5 so far. The Tigers have won seven straight, most recently over Grambling. As for Mississippi Valley State, they’re 1-19 this year. The Devils have lost three straight, most recently to Prairie View A&M. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Jackson State opened the season on an ugly 0-5 run, but since then it’s been seven straight victories. Those wins have come courtesy of Alabama State, Grambling, MS Valley State, AR-Pine Bluff, Alcorn State, Southern U and Grambling again.

In the 63-59 win over Grambling on Monday, Jackson State’s Tristan Jarrett put up 26 points with one rebound and one assist. Cainan McClelland added 12 points with four assists and three boards, and Jayveous McKinnis had six points with 12 rebounds.

Over on the Mississippi Valley State side, it’s been a long year so far. The Delta Devils kicked off the season with 16 straight losses before a victory over Alabama State. Since then it’s been losses to Alcorn State, Texas Southern and Prairie View.

In the 82-62 loss to Prairie View A&M, MS Valley State’s Terry Colins put up 16 points with three rebounds and two assists. Also in double-figures was Caleb Hunter with 15 points, eight boards and five assists.

The Devils are 0-4 ATS in their last four Saturday games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 overall. MS Valley State is 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win and the over is 4-1 in their last five as a favorite.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall. Jackson State is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and the over is 4-1 in their last five Saturday games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Jackson State, but probably staying away. The last time these teams met was back on January 30. The Tigers posted an enormous blowout win 106-56 in their best offensive performance of the year. This one likely won’t be so lopsided, but I still think the Tigers have a better shot on a cover.
