The Wichita State Shockers and the Tulane Green Wave meet in college basketball action from the Fogelman Arena on Wednesday night.

The Wichita State Shockers will be out to build a 68-63 win over Houston in what will be their first matchup since February 18th. Tyson Etienne leads the Shockers in scoring with 17.2 PPG as well as longing 3.5 RPG and 2.4 APG and Allterique Gilbert has 10.5 PPG and 3.6 APG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Wichita State up to this point in the season. Tyler Wade leads the Shockers in rebounding with 5.3 RPG while Morris Udeze has 9.5 PPG as well this season. As a team, Wichita State is averaging 72.6 PPG on 40.3% shooting from the field and 32.9% from three while allowing 68 PPG on 40% shooting from the floor and 28.6% from three this season.

The Tulane Green Wave will be out to bounce back from a three-game losing streak after a 91-71 loss to Cincinnati last time out. Jaylen Forbes leads the Green Wave in scoring and rebounding with 17.1 PPG and 5.3 RPG while Jordan Walker has 12.5 PPG and a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the Green Wave in assists and to cap off the scoring in double figures for Tulane heading into Wednesday’s matchup with Wichita State. As a team, Tulane is averaging  63.6 PPG on 37.7% shooting from the field and 29.7% from three while allowing 68.2 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field and 35% from three this season.

Wichita State is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 11-3 in their last 14 road games. Tulane is 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 25-12 in their last 37 Wednesday games.

There’s a case to be made for both sides here, as the Green Wave were on a nice cover run before going on this three-game slide, and the Shockers also haven’t played since the 18th, so just about two weeks ago. While having three extra games may benefit Tulane from a rhythm perspective, it doesn’t help the psyche that the last two games were blowouts against Memphis and Cincinnati by a combined 35 points. I think that all of the value on Wichita State here fter the layoff, so I’ll back the Shockers to get the job done in this one.
