Wagner Seahawks vs Merrimack Warriors College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/3/21

The Merrimack Warriors and the Wagner Seahawks meet in college basketball action from the Spiro Sports Center on Wednesday night.

The Merrimack Warriors will look to bounce back from a 74-67 loss to Wagner last time out. Mikey Watkins leads Merrimack in scoring and assists with 12.2 PPG and 3.8 APG while Jordan Minor has 12.1 PPG with a team-high 8.5 RPG to lead the Warriors on the glass and Ziggy Reid has 11.2 PPG and 5.4 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Merrimack up to this point in the season. As a team, Merrimack is averaging 66.7 PPG on 45.1% shooting from the field and 31% from three while allowing 66.8 PPG on 42.4% shooting from the field and 35.3% from three this season.

The Wagner Seahawks will look to add to their win over Merrimack from Tuesday. Alex Morales leads the Seahawks in scoring, rebounding and assists with 17.8 PPG, 7.3 RPG and 4.4 APG while Elijah Ford has 17.6 PPG with 7 RPG and Will Martinez has 11.9 PPG, 3.1 APG and 4.5 RPG. Delonnie Hunt has 10.9 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Wagner up to this point in the season. As a team, Wagner is averaging 72.3 PPG on 45% shooting from the field and 32.3% from three while allowing 69.4 PPG on 43.4% shooting from the field and 34.4% from three this season.

It’s hard to usually beat the same team in a back-to-back in any scenario, and we’ve seen on numerous occasions this season that the team that drops the first half of the back-to-back usually comes back with a vengeance in the second half. The problem here is that I think Wagner is the better team and I just think the Seahawks do enough to pull away in the second half to notch a cover in the process so I’ll lay the points with Wagner here.
