Manhattan vs Fairfield College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/4/21

The Fairfield Stags and the Manhattan Jaspers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Draddy Gymnasium. 

Fairfield enters this one at 6-15 so far. The Stags are 1-2 in their last three and coming off a win over Canisius. As for Manhattan, they’re 6-11 this year. Fairfield has had issues stringing together wins this year; they’ve gotten consecutive victories just once so far. The Stags are 3-2 in their last five games. The losses came to Saint Peter’s and Canisius; the wins were versus Quinnipiac, Saint Peter’s and Canisius. 

In the 66-53 win over Canisius on February 20, Fairfield’s Jesus Cruz led the team on 17 points with two rebounds, and Jake Wojcik had 16 points with six boards. Zach Crisler chipped in with nine points and three rebounds as well. 

Over on the Manhattan side, they were sitting at 5-4 back on January 16, but they’ve gone just 1-7 in their last eight games since then. The Jaspers got a win versus Iona on February 13 and since have lost two games to Siena. 

In the 64-56 Saturday loss to Siena, Manhattan’s lead scorer was Elijah Buchanan with 18 points, five boards and two assists. Samir Stewart added 13 points with one rebound, and Warren Williams had 10 rebounds and eight assists. 

The Jaspers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five overall and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 Thursday games. The over is 4-1 in Manhattan’s last five overall and the under is 5-0 in the last five on Thursday. 

Meanwhile, the Stags are 1-5 ATS in their last six Thursday games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games. Fairfield is 2-14 ATS in their last 16 after an ATS win and the under is 48-19 in their last 67 overall. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Fairfield, but probably staying away. There’s not a lot to get excited about here. In any case, it’s been a while since Fairfield has hit the court, but they had a decent 3-2 run going in their last five games. Manhattan just hasn’t been scoring well lately, and if the Stags can get off to a quick start I think they’ll have an angle on a cover.
