The Michigan Wolverines and the Michigan State Spartans meet Sunday in college basketball action from Breslin Center.

Michigan enters this matchup at 19-2 overall. The Wolverines are 1-1 in their last pair, falling to Illinois and beating Michigan State. As for the Spartans, they’re 14-11 this season. Michigan State is also 1-1 in their last pair, beating Indiana before the loss to the Wolverines on Thursday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Michigan has been a strong team all year, and started out the season at 18-1. The only blemish during that stretch was a January 16 loss to Minnesota. In the last pair, the Wolverines have a loss to Illinois and a big win over Michigan State on Thursday.

In the 69-50 win over the Spartans on Thursday, Michigan’s Franz Wagner led the way on 19 points with six rebounds. Hunter Dickinson notched a double-double in that one, posting 14 points with 10 rebounds in 24 minutes on the floor.

Over on the Michigan State side, it’s been a choppy season in a tough conference. They hit a nice 6-0 run to kick things off but then won just two of their next nine games. The Spartans are 1-2 over their last three games with losses to Maryland and Michigan.

In the loss to the Wolverines on Thursday, Michigan State’s only double-digit scorer was Aaron Henry with 14 points, five rebounds and one assist. Mady Sissoko added eight points with two rebounds in six minutes of action as well.

The Spartans are 6-16 ATS in their last 22 games overall and 0-5 ATS in their last five Sunday games. Michigan State is 4-11 ATS in their last 15 after an ATS loss and the under is 4-0 in their last four overall.

Meanwhile, Michigan is 4-0 ATS in the last four road games and 8-3 ATS in the last 11 after an ATS win. The Wolverines are 4-1 ATS in their last five Sunday games and 22-8 ATS in their last 30 overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Michigan. The Wolverines jumped out to a 39-28 lead at halftime in the Thursday game, and kept up the heat with a 30-22 edge in the second. Michigan had the edge in most statistical categories, including a 50.0 percent to 36.4 percent mark from the field. This one may be a little closer initially, but if the Wolverines get going I don’t think Michigan State can keep up.
