Georgia Tech vs Miami College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 3/11/21

The Miami Hurricanes and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet Thursday in college basketball action from Greensboro Coliseum. 

Coming into this ACC Tournament matchup, Miami sits at 10-16 overall. The Hurricanes took out Clemson in tourney action on Wednesday. As for Georgia Tech, they’re sitting at 15-8 this year. Miami got off to a 3-0 start this year, but they stumbled after that and couldn’t win consecutive games for quite some time. The good news is that the Hurricanes are 3-0 in their last three outings. They’ve taken out Boston College, Pittsburgh and Clemson in that stretch. 

In Wednesday’s tournament win over Clemson, Miami was behind 36-32 at the break but got better in the second half for an eventual 67-64 win. Topping the team in scoring was Isaiah Wong with 20 points, seven rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the Georgia Tech side, they got off to a nice 7-3 start this year, but then lost five of their next seven games. Since then the Jackets have gone 6-0, taking out Pitt, Miami, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Duke and Wake Forest in that stretch. 

In the 75-63 win over Wake last week, Georgia Tech’s Michael Devoe put up 20 points with five rebounds and two assists, and Moses Wright added 17 points with four rebounds and three assists. Jordan Usher chipped in 14 points with six rebounds as well. 

Georgia Tech is 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 Thursday games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven overall. The over is 4-1 in the Jackets’ last five overall and 4-1 in their last five after a straight-up win. 

Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are 5-16-1 ATS in their last 22 Thursday games and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 5-2 in Miami’s last seven overall and 4-0 in their last four neutral-site games. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Georgia Tech in this one. The Yellow Jackets have been playing well over this six-game win streak, and they’ve hit 69 or more points in each of their last seven outings. Miami has bagged some nice wins in their last trio, but lost to Georgia Tech 87-60 in their last matchup. This one could be closer but I still like the Jackets.
