The New Orleans Privateers and the Northwestern State Demons meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Prather Coliseum.

New Orleans is sitting at 4-10 so far. The Privateers had a three-game win streak snapped by Nicholls State in their last game. As for Northwestern State, they’re currently 3-14 this year. The Demons are coming off a win over Southeastern Louisiana. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

New Orleans’ season started on a three-game skid before a win over Florida International. The Privateers then suffered a six-game losing streak. After three wins over Incarnate Word, McNeese State and Texas A&M-CC, New Orleans lost to Nicholls State in their last outing.

In the 86-62 loss to the Colonels on Saturday, New Orleans’ Damion Rosser put up 16 points with eight rebounds and two assists to lead the team. Both Troy Green and Derek St. Hilaire notched 14 points apiece, combining for two assists and eight rebounds as well.

Over on the Northwestern State side, their year began with five straight losses and a win over Champion. The Demons then hit the skids again for seven straight games before a win over McNeese State. After two more losses NW State bagged a win over Southeastern Louisiana.

In the Saturday win over the Lions, Northwestern State’s Larry Owens put up 14 points with four rebounds. Trenton Massner added 13 points with seven assists and two rebounds, and Kendal Coleman managed 12 points with eight boards in 24 minutes of action.

The Demons are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games after an ATS win and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 Wednesday games. The under is 4-1 in NW State’s last five overall and they’re 1-6 ATS in their last seven versus a team with a losing straight-up record.

Meanwhile, New Orleans is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five overall. The over is 20-8 in the Privateers’ last 28 road games and 41-18-1 in their last 60 games overall.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Northwestern State here. At first glance there’s not a lot of intrigue in this matchup; the teams have a combined 24 losses and neither has played all that well this year. Still, it should be a pretty competitive game. The Demons have put up 73 or more points in three of their last four and I think they can eke out a cover/win in this one.
