The Colorado State Rams and the Memphis Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Comerica Center.

Coming into this NIT Tournament matchup, the Rams are 20-6 overall. Colorado state is coming off a Thursday victory versus NC State. As for Memphis, they’re 18-8 so far. The Tigers managed a three-point win over Boise State on Thursday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Colorado State has been on a consistent run this year, and the team hasn’t lost consecutive games. The Rams hit a 1-2 stretch this month with a loss to Utah State in the conference tourney, but they’ve beaten Buffalo and NC State in NIT activity so far.

In Thursday’s matchup versus NC State, the Rams had a 28-25 deficit at the break but surged for 40 second-half points in an eventual 65-61 win. Colorado State’s Isaiah Stevens led the team with 18 points, four assists and one rebound in 36 minutes.

Over on the Memphis side, they were sitting at 9-6 back on January 28 but have lost just two games since then. The Tigers fell to Houston in the conference tourney, and since have taken out Dayton and Boise State in the NIT matchups.

In Thursday’s tournament matchup versus Boise State, Memphis had a 31-26 lead at the break and were able to pull out a 59-56 win despite just 28 second-half points. Leading the team were Boogie Ellis and DJ Jeffries, each with 11 points and a combined eight rebounds.

The Tigers are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 as a favorite and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 overall. Memphis is 2-6 ATS in their last eight after an ATS loss and the under is 5-1 in their last six Saturday games.

Meanwhile, Colorado State is 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight neutral-site games. The under is 4-0 in the Rams’ last four overall and 4-0 in their last four neutral-site games.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Colorado State in this one. The Rams had a bad skid coming out of conference play but have really been a solid team all season. Colorado State notched 75 points in their first NIT game, and came back against a plucky NC State team on Thursday. This matchup should be excellent as well (and Memphis should be able to open it up on offense). I think the Rams can keep the pace in a higher-scoring game.
