IUPUI lost their first three games of the season, falling in each by nine points or more. The Jaguars fell to Butler 56-47 in their opener, then were blown out 60-40 by Evansville. Game three was more of the same: a 63-47 loss to Denver.

On Tuesday against Texas A&M-CC, the Jaguars kept the pace in the first half with a 27-27 tie, but faded down the stretch in a tough 65-59 loss. IUPUI’s leading scorer was BJ Maxwell with 14 points, five rebounds and one steal.

Over on the Roadrunners’ side, they kicked off their year with a solid win over Trinity TX, taking it 97-66. UTSA was outmatched by Oklahoma in game two and never had a chance in a 96-44 defeat. In game three the Roadrunners were stunned by Texas A&M-Commerce in a 65-62 loss.

In the Tuesday game versus Denver, UTSA posted 42 points in the first half and added 36 more after the break in a nice 78-64 victory. Jordan Ivy-Curry topped the team on 27 points, four rebounds and three steals.

UTSA is 43-19-2 ATS in the last 64 at home and 20-7-1 ATS in the last 28 as a home favorite. The under is 3-0-1 in the Roadrunners’ last four Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Jags are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Wednesday games and the under is 5-1 in their last six road games. IUPUI is 1-3-1 ATS in the last five overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with UTSA. The Roadrunners had a very solid overall outing against Denver on Tuesday. UTSA put up 46.0 percent shooting from the field with 44 rebounds and 10 assists. The team was consistent offensively for most of the game; it was a nice victory to build from.

As for the Jaguars, they shot just 38.3 percent from the floor in their last outing versus Texas A&M-CC, but did a few things well (like the 41 rebounds) during the game. The 25 turnovers and 16-of-23 from the line were just too much.
