The VCU Rams and the Baylor Bears meet in college basketball action from the Imperial Arena on Thursday.

The VCU Rams will be looking to add to their 67-55 win over Syracuse last time out. Heading into the game against Syracuse on Wednesday, Williams Jr. leads the Rams with 12.2 PPG along with 4.8 RPG while Keshawn Curry has 9.3 PPG with Hason Ward adding 5.8 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Rams on the glass and Marcus Tsohonis leads VCU in the assist department with 2.5 APG this season. As a team, VCU is averaging 50.8 PPG on 40.4% shooting from the field, 26.3% from three point range and 61.5% from the charity stripe while allowing 51.3 PPG on 32.7% shooting from the field and 21% from three this season.

The Baylor Bears will try to build on a 75-63 win over Arizona State in their last game. Hedaing into Wednesday’s tilt with Arizona State, LJ Cryer has 18.3 PPG and 3 APG while Kendall Brown’s chipped in 15 PPG with 4 RPG and 3.8 APG as well this season. Matthew Mayer has 10.5 PPG while James Akinjo and Jeremy Sochan each have 10.3 PPG with Sochan putting up 6.3 RPG while Akinjo has a team-high 8 APG this season. Jonathan Tchamwa-Tchatchoua also has a team-high 9.2 RPG as well this season. As a team, Baylor is averaging 88.5 PPG on 50.5% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three and 61.4% from the foul line while allowing 53.8 PPG on 37.9% shooting from the field and 31.9% from three this season.

This is a tough game because I do think that Baylor is the better team but VCU’s defense is more than capable of keeping themselves in this game. I think we do get over the number here despite the defense for the Rams, so give me the over.
