The Iona Gaels and the Belmont Bruins meet in college basketball action from the HP Field House on Friday night.

The Iona Gaels will look to remain unbeaten after a massive 72-68 win over Alabama last time out. Nelly Junior Joseph leads the Gaels in scoring and rebounding with 16.6 PPG and 7.2 RPG while Tyson Jolly has 16 PPG with 5 RPG and 2.2 APG. Dylan van Eyck has 12 PPG with 5.6 RPG and Quinn Slazinski has 10.8 PPG with 4 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Iona so far this season. Elijah Joiner also has 9.3 PPG with 5.3 RPG and a team-high 3.5 APG as well this season. As a team, Iona is averaging 74 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field, 32.2% from three and 69.7% from the foul line while allowing 66.2 PPG on 39.3% shooting from the floor and 24.2% from three this season.

The Belmont Bruins will be out to add to a 74-69 win over Drake last time out. Nick Muszynski leads the Bruins in scoring and rebounding with 15 PPG and 6.2 RPG while Ben Sheppard has 14.8 PPG and Will Richard has 12.2 PPG with 5.4 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Belmont up to this point in the season. Grayson Murphy has 9.8 PPG with 5.8 RPG and a team-high 4.8 APG as well this season. Luke Smith also has 8.8 PPg this season. As a team, Belmont is averaging 80 PPG on 47.7% shooting from the field, 34% from three and 76.1% from the foul line while allowing 75.7 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field and 35.2% from three this season.

I’m not looking to go near the side at all if I’m being completely honest as the case can be made for Iona both ways, letdown or momentum after the in against Alabama and Belmont’s loss was a bit of a shocker as well. Instead, I’m looking at the over here as I think this is a game that easily gets into the 150s and soars over the number in what should be a fantastic game.
