Bradley vs SIU-Edwardsville 12/4/21 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The SIU Edwardsville Cougars and the Bradley Braves meet Saturday in college basketball action from Carver Arena. SIU Edwardsville has won just three games so far, their most recent coming of Tuesday over Omaha. As for the Braves, they’ve won consecutive games (but just three overall as well), beating Northern Iowa in their last outing. SIU Edwardsville went 1-3 in their first four games this year, falling to Marquette, Chicago State and Niagara with a win over Knox. In the next four the Cougars went 2-2 with losses to St. Thomas MN and Creighton alongside wins over Youngstown State and Omaha. 

In the matchup versus Omaha on Tuesday, the Cougars posted a nice 49-25 edge in the first half and were able to hang on for a 75-65 victory. Top scorer Lamar Wright put up 20 points with five boards, and Shaun Doss added 15 points. 

Over on the Bradley side, they went 1-3 in their first four as well, beating Missouri A&T while losing to Colorado State, Howard and South Dakota State. The Braves lost to Brown and Duquesne before beating Maine and Northern Iowa. 

On Wednesday against Northern Iowa, the Braves were up 39-28 going into the second half. Bradley was outscored 41-32 from there but still came away with the 71-69 win. Terry Roberts led the way on 20 points. Ville Tahvanainen put up 14 points with four rebounds. 

The Braves are 13-27-1 ATS in their last 41 Saturday games and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Bradley is 5-15-2 ATS in their last 22 overall. 

Meanwhile, the Cougars are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-6 ATS in their last six after a straight-up win. The under is 8-3 in SIUE’s last 11 overall. 

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Bradley but not going near this one. It should be a pretty good matchup, though. The Braves had a scare in the second half versus Bradley in their last game but were resilient enough to pull through. Bradley has now hit 70 points or more in each of their last three outings. 

As for SIU Edwardsville, they’ve been spotty this season but lately the points are starting to come in. The Cougars have hit 69 or more in three of their last four. I like this one to be a reasonably high-scoring matchup with Bradley pulling out a slim cover. Should be fun.
