The Quinnipiac Bobcats and the Dartmouth Big Green meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Leede Arena. Quinnipiac is 4-4 so far this year. The Bobcats are coming off a win over Manhattan. Quinnipiac lost to Maryland in their first game this year, then hit a three-game win streak. Quinnipiac struggled with losses in their next three to New Hampshire, Brown and Saint Peters, but bounced back with a win over Manhattan on Sunday.
In the victory over the Jaspers, Quinnipiac held a slim two-point advantage at halftime. The Bobcats outscored the Jaspers 57-42 from there in a 90-73 win. Matt Balanc led the way on 31 points with four boards.
Over on the Dartmouth side, they lost to Boston College in their opener this year before similarly hitting a three-game win streak over Georgetown, Lyndon State and Bryant. Since then it’s been losses to Vermont and Florida Gulf Coast.
In the FGCU game back on Saturday, Dartmouth blew a six-point halftime lead and had to go to overtime. The Eagles surged 17-7 from there and the Green ended up losing 78-68. Brendan Barry was tops with 26 points, five rebounds and two assists.
The Green are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 at home and 1-5 ATS in their last six Wednesday games. Dartmouth is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Bobcats are 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win and 7-2 ATS in their last nine Wednesday games. Quinnipiac is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.
PICK: I’m probably trying Quinnipiac here. The Bobcats struggled during that three-game losing streak and failed to hit 70 points in any of the defeats. Quinnipiac bounced back to score 90 against Manhattan in their last outing; they’ve hit 76 or more points in each of their four wins so far. As for Dartmouth, I don’t think they’ll have the legs to stay in front here if Quinnipiac gets off to a good start.
