The Holy Cross Crusaders and the Fairfield Stags meet in college hoops action from Webster Bank Arena on Wednesday night.

The Holy Cross Crusaders come into this game on the heels of an 84-65 loss to La Salle last time out. Judson Martindale leads the Crusaders in scoring with 12.6 PPG along with 4.9 RPG while Kyrell Luc has 12 PPG with a team-high 2.3 APG and Gerrale Gates has 11.7 PPG with 8.3 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Holy Cross so far this season. As a team, Holy Cross is averaging 68.7 PPG on 43% shooting from the field, 37.6% from three and 70.6% from the foul line while allowing 71.2 PPG on 46.4% shooting from the field and 33.1% from three this season.

The Fairfield Stags will try to add to an 81-71 win over Niagara in their last game. Jake Wojcik and Taj Benning each have 11.4 PPG with Benning logging 5.6 RPG and 3.1 APG to lead the Stags in assists while TJ Long has 11 PPG and Supreme Cook has 10.3 PPG with a team-high 7.1 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers as Fairfield’s top rebounder as well. I get that Fairfield has the more impressive resume to this point and are playing a weak Holy Cross team, but this is the biggest number the Stags will have had to try to cover to date and even still, I’m not 100% sold on the Stags yet. On the other hand Holy Cross is capable of hanging or getting blown out. Instead, I’m going to side with the under here as I envision this being a game where points are hard to come by and a game where we struggle to get to 130 let alone 140. Give me the under.
