The Bucknell Bison will travel to the Robins Center to take on the Richmond Spiders this Wednesday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Bucknell Bison snapped their 3-game losing streak and improved to 3-8 on the season after defeating the La Salle Explorers, 82-70, this past Saturday. Bucknell went into halftime with a 43-35 lead and was able to pull away for the victory after taking a 72-55 lead with 5:53 left in the 2nd half. Bucknell shot 56.1% from the field & 50.0% from beyond the arc while allowing La Salle to shoot 44.3% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bison was Andrew Funk who had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, & 3 steals.

On the season, Bucknell is averaging 74.4 ppg on 44.8% shooting from the field. The Bison are averaging 8.6 three-pointers per game on 36.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Bucknell has been led by Andrew Funk (18.3 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.4 apg), Xander Rice (12.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.8 apg, 1.1 spg), Alex Timmerman (11.0 ppg, 7.1 rpg), & Andre Screen (10.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.7 apg).

Defensively, Bucknell is allowing their opponents to average 81.1 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Bison have a rebound margin of -4.1 and a turnover margin of -5.2.

The Richmond Spiders won their 5th straight game and improved to 8-4 on the season after defeating the Old Dominion Monarchs, 67-61, this past Sunday. Richmond had all they could handle from Old Dominion, however, the Spiders were able to pull away late after a three-point play by Richmond’s Nathan Cayo gave the Spiders a 62-59 lead with 1:34 left in regulation. Richmond shot 40.5% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc while holding Old Dominion to just 33.8% shooting from the field & 15.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Spiders was Tyler Burton who had a double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds, 1 block, & 1 steal.

On the season, Richmond is averaging 74.6 ppg on 46.5% shooting from the field. The Spiders are averaging 9.6 three-pointers per game on 37.1% shotting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Richmond has been led by Tyler Burton (19.1 ppg, 7.0 rpg), Grant Golden (15.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.6 apg), Jacob Gilyard (11.1 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 6.1 apg, 3.3 spg), & Nathan Cayo (7.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.3 apg).

Defensively, Richmond is allowing their opponents to average 71.0 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Spiders have a rebound margin of -5.0 and a turnover margin of 2.5.

The Bison are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Spiders are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games following a ATS loss.

Bucknell has some talent on the offensive end, however, the Bison aren’t going to rack up many victories this season unless they find answers on the defensive end as they come into this matchup ranked just 344th in scoring defense & 251st in defensive FG%. Richmond is one of the better teams int eh A-10 this season and as they have an offense that should be able to be able to push the pace and put up plenty of points in this one, I think Richmond pulls away in the 2nd half and cover this large spread. Good Luck!
