The Vermont Catamounts won their 3rd straight game and improved to 9-4 on the season after defeating the New Hampshire Wildcats, 82-68, this past Thursday. Vermont was outstanding offensively against New Hampshire and was able to pull away late in the 2nd half after taking a 69-59 lead with 7:05 left in regulation. Vermont shot 63.3% from the field & 53.3% from beyond the arc while allowing New Hampshire to shoot 42.6% from the field & 57.1% from beyond the arc. The Seawolves are 5-8 ATS on the season and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Catamounts are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games.

Stony Brook has been led by their offense which ranks 159th in scoring offense & 185th in FG%, however, the Seawolves have struggled defensively as they come into this matchup ranked t-273rd in scoring defense & 319th in defensive FG%. Vermont has been led by their defense which ranks 24th in scoring defense & 87th in defensive FG%, however, the Catamounts have struggled a bit putting points up on the scoreboard as they come into this game ranked just 279th in scoring offense.

Stony Brook is just 1-4 on the road this season and haven’t been great ATS on the road as of late either. Vermont is still the team to beat in the American East and seem to be rounding on to form with double-digit victories over Colgate & New Hampshire over their last two games. Vermont should be able to slow down the Stony Brook offense at home with their strong defense and as I think Ryan Davis & Ben Shungu will do enough on the offensive end against the poor Stony Brooks defense, I’m taking Vermont to cover in this one. Good Luck!
