The George Mason Patriots and the George Washington Colonials meet in college basketball action from the Charles Smith Center on Monday afternoon.

The George Mason Patriots come into this game on the heels of a 76-67 loss to Kansas in their last game on New Year’s Day. Josh Oduro leads the Patriots in scoring with 17 PPG along with 6.5 RPG while D’Shawn Schwartz has 14.6 PPG with 4.9 RPG as well. DeVon Cooper has 13 PPG with 2.7 APG and Davonte Gaines has 11.2 PPG with a team-high 8.1 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for GMU up to this point in the year as the Patriots’ top rebounder. Xavier Johnson also has a team-high 4.3 APG as well on the year. As a team, George Mason is averaging 72.3 PPG on 45.7% shooting from the field, 36.4% from three and 70.4% from the foul line while allowing 66.2 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three this season.

The George Washington Colonials will try to rebound from back-to-back losses after an 84-57 loss to VCU last time out. James Bishop leads GW in scoring with 15.6 PPG while Joe Bamisile has 13.8 PPG with 6.1 RPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for GW so far this season. Brendan Adams has 9.8 PPG while Ricky Lindo Jr. has 8.7 PPG with a team-high 8.1 RPG and Brayon Freeman has 3 APG as well to lead the Colonials so far this season. As a team, George Washington is averaging 64 PPG on 40.8% shooting from the field, 29.5% from three and 64.7% from the foul line while allowing 71.4 PPG on 43.6% shooting from the field and 31.5% from three this season.

George Mason is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall while the over is 6-2 in their last 8 games overall. I get that laying points with George Mason isn’t ideal as the Patriots haven’t taken the floor in two weeks plus, but any residual rust is better than what George Washington has going on within their lineup. The Patriots have at least been finding ways to win and cover spreads, also something we’re not overly familiar with from GW. Give me George Mason in this one.
