Florida State vs Duke 1/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Duke Blue Devils and the Florida State Seminoles meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Donald L. Tucker Center. Duke is currently 14-2 this year. The Devils beat NC State in their last game over the weekend. As for Florida State, they’re sitting at 10-5 and took out Syracuse in their last appearance. Duke posted a nice 12-1 run over their first 13 games this year. The only blemish was a November 30 loss to Ohio State. After another loss to Miami on January 8, the Blue Devils have beaten Wake Forest and NC State in their last pair. 

In the NC State game, the Devils posted 45 points in the first half and 43 more from there in a solid 88-73 win. Leading the way was Paolo Banchero with 21 points and eight rebounds. Mark Williams doubled up on 19 points and 11 boards as well. 

Over on the Florida State side, their year got off to a rocky 5-4 start with losses to Florida, Purdue, Syracuse and South Carolina. The Seminoles are 5-1 in their last six, beating Lipscomb, NC State, Louisville, Miami and Syracuse along the way. 

In the Syracuse game, the Seminoles were down 37-36 at halftime. FSU hit a 40-34 run from there on the way to a 76-71 win. Top scorer Caleb Mills put up 19 points with five assists, and RayQuan Evans added 15 points with five assists. 

The Seminoles are 0-4 ATS in the last four Tuesday games and 1-8-1 ATS in their last 10 after an ATS win. Florida State is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 overall.
Meanwhile, the Devils are 6-2 ATS in their last eight overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five after an ATS win. Duke is 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Tuesday games. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Duke I suppose. This will be a very interesting matchup regardless, though. The Blue Devils haven’t had a whole lot of trouble staying competitive this year. Duke’s two losses came by a combined seven points, and they’ve scored 69 or more points in each of their last eight outings. Florida State is also scoring well in their own right; the Seminoles have hit 76 or more points in four of their last six. That said, if Duke keeps it rolling offensively I don’t think Florida State will ultimately be able to keep up. Should be a fun game to watch.
