The Bears are coming off a loss to Oklahoma State. As for West Virginia, they’re sitting at 13-3 on the season and fell to Kansas in their last outing. Baylor got off to a nice 15-game win streak to start the season this year. The winning run lasted from November 12 to January 11, when the Bears took a loss to Texas Tech. Baylor fell again in their last game on Saturday to Oklahoma State.

In the Oklahoma State game, Baylor posted a 34-22 deficit in the first half. The Bears got better after the break but couldn’t come back in a 61-54 loss. Leading scorer LJ Cryer posted 18 points with two assists, and Matthew Mayer added 16 points.

Over on the West Virginia side, their year opened on an 11-1 run. The only blemish was a loss to Marquette. The Mountaineers are 2-2 in their last four games, with wins over Kansas State and Oklahoma State sandwiched between losses to Texas and Kansas.

In the Kansas game Saturday, the Mountaineers were within just two points at halftime. After a 52-28 deficit from there however, West Virginia ended up losing 85-59. Malik Curry was the team’s top scorer on 23 points with four rebounds and two assists.

The Mountaineers are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home and the under is 5-2 in their last seven at home. The under is 4-1 in WVU’s last five Tuesday games.

Meanwhile, the Bears are 1-4 ATS in their last five Tuesday games and 1-5 ATS in their last six as a favorite. Baylor is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to try Baylor, but probably staying away. The Bears simply haven’t been themselves over the last two games, and they’ve scored a combined 116 points during those losses. Baylor shot just 31 percent from the floor in the OK State game and the offense just isn’t clicking.

As for West Virginia, they’ve had a couple of tough games against stout opponents in their last four outings, and I expect them to be competitive here. I have to think that at some point Baylor will snap out of their funk and start executing again, though. Might as well be here.
