East Tennessee State vs The Citadel 1/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Citadel Bulldogs and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers meet in college basketball action from the Freedom Hall Civic Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Citadel Bulldogs will look to snap a three-game losing skid after an 89-77 loss to Wofford last time out. Hayden Brown leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 17.8 PPG and 8.2 RPG while Jason Roche has 13.8 PPG with 4.5 RPG and Stephen Clark has 10.9 PPG and 5.4 RPG this season to cap off the scoring in double figures for the Citadel this season. Rudy Fitzgibbons III has 9.5 PPG and Tyler Moffe has 9.2 PPG with a team-high 3.5 APG to lead the Citadel in assists this year. As a team, the Citadel is averaging 79.9 PPG on 45.8% shooting from the field, 34.6% from three and 67.2% from the foul line while allowing 75.4 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field and 32.8% from three this season.

The East Tennessee State Buccaneers will look to build on their 72-64 win over Mercer last time out. David Sloan leads ETSU in scoring and assists with 13.2 PPG and a team-high 4.3 APG this season while Ledarrius Brewer has 12.7 PPG with 4.9 RPG. Jordan King has 12.4 PPG and Ty Brewer has 10.3 PPG with a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Buccaneers on the glass and to make up the group of double-digit scorers for East Tennessee State up to this point in the season. As a team, East Tennessee State is averaging 71.4 PPG on 44.3% shooting from the field, 34.9% from three and 73% from the foul line while allowing 71.7 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field and 31% from three this season.

The Citadel is 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games as an underdog and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games following a loss. This is a fairly sizeable number to lay with ETSU who haven’t been the best offensive team at home this season, but the thing is that the Bulldogs are so bad defensively on the road that it almost elevates the Buccaneers offense to another level. We haven’t really seen the Citadel clamp it down defensively on the road and I don’t think it starts here. Give me the Buccaneers at home in this one.
