The Ohio Bobcats improved to 15-3 on the season after defeating the Northern Illinois Huskies, 74-62, this past Tuesday. Ohio dominated Northern Illinois on both ends of the court in the 1st half and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 41-22 lead. Ohio shot 40.7% from the field & 26.7% from beyond the arc while allowing Northern Illinois to shoot 42.6% from the field & 18.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bobcats was Mark Sears who had 26 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Ohio is averaging 73.9 ppg on 43.3% shooting from the field. The Bobcats are averaging 8.6 three-pointers per game on 32.8% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Ohio has been led by Mark Sears (19.6 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.8 spg), Jason Carter (14.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.3 spg, 1.1 bpg), Ben Vander Plas (12.9 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.6 spg), & Miles Brown (7.0 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.2 spg).

Defensively, Ohio is allowing their opponents to average 66.9 ppg on 43.9% shooting from the field. The Bobcats have a rebound margin of 0.4 and a turnover margin of 3.4.

The Buffalo Bulls had their 4-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-7 on the season after being defeated by the Toledo Rockets, 86-75, this past Tuesday. Buffalo struggled on the offensive end against Toledo and could not fight back after the Rockets took a 78-65 lead with 5:03 left in regulation. Buffalo shot 37.0% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Toledo to shoot 50.9% from the field & 25.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulls was Jeenathan Williams who had 24 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, & 3 steals.

On the season, Buffalo is averaging 80.2 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Bulls are averaging 8.9 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Buffalo has been led by Jeenathan Williams (19.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.3 spg), Ronaldo Segu (15.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 5.0 apg), Josh Mballa (13.3 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.1 apg, 1.6 spg, 1.1 bpg), & Maceo Jack (9.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.2 apg).

The Bobcats are 5-10 ATS in their last 15 games, however, are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. MAC-East opponents. The Bulls are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games & 3-3 ATS in their last 6 home games.

Ohio has been solid on both ends of the court this season as the Bobcats come into this game ranked 128th in scoring offense, 125th in scoring defense, & t-38th in rebound margin. Buffalo has been led by their offense which ranks 20th in scoring offense, 59th in three-pointers made per game, & 130th in FG%, however, the Bulls have struggled on the defensive end and come into this game ranked just 271st in scoring defense.

Ohio is the better team overall, however, Buffalo is not that far behind the Bobcats in terms of talent and have a huge advantage playing on their home court in which they are 5-1 on the season. Buffalo should be able to put up plenty of offense against the Bobcats at home and as I think the Bulls win this one by 5-8 points, I’m taking Buffalo to cover this small spread. Good Luck!
