Tennessee-Martin vs Southeast Missouri State 2/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks and the UT-Martin Skyhawks meet in college basketball action from the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center on Thursday night.

The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks will look to build on their 85-77 win over SIU-Edwardsville last time out. Eric Reed Jr. leads Southeast Missouri State in scoring with 15.4 PPG while Phillip Russell is right behind with 14.4 PPG and 2.9 APG. Chris Harris has 10.9 PPG with 2,7 APG to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Southeast Missouri State so far this season. Nygal Russell also has a team-high 6.7 RPG to lead the Redhawks on the glass this season. As a team, Southeast Missouri State is averaging 76 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 73% from the foul line while allowing 79.4 PPG on 46% shooting from the field and 36% from three this season.

The UT-Martin Skyhawks will try to bounce back from an 87-58 loss to Belmont in their last game. KJ Simon leads the Skyhawks in scoring with 16.4 PPG along with 5.2 RPG while KK Curry has 10.6 PPG with 5.3 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for UT-Martin so far this season. Bernie Andre has 8.9 PPG with a team-high 5.7 RPG to lead UT-Martin on the glass and Koby Jeffries has also dished out a team-high 3 APG as well this season. As a team, UT-Martin is averaging 69.3 PPG on 41.8% shooting from the field, 28.5% from three and 69.7% from the foul line while allowing 74 PPG on 43.8% shooting from the field and 33.1% from three this season.

Southeast Missouri State is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. I get why you could side with UT-Martin at home here, as the Redhawks only road win as of late was against the lowly Eastern Illinois Panthers, who may be the worst team in the OVC this season. However, UT-Martin hasn’t had a ton of success lately and that makes them hard to back when we aren’t getting any points as a safety net. Southeast Missouri State’s picked up a couple of wins lately and took Morehead State to OT so that has to give them some kind of confidence coming into this one. I’ll take my chances with the Redhawks here.
