The Montana State Bobcats and the Eastern Washington Eagles meet Thursday in college basketball action from Reese Court. Montana State is 20-5 so far this year. The Bobcats beat Northern Arizona in their last game. As for Eastern Washington, they’re 13-12 on the season and coming off a win over Idaho State. Montana State went 9-5 over their first 14 games, and it’s been smooth sailing from there. The Bobcats are currently riding an 11-game win streak. They’ve beaten Idaho State, Portland State and Northern Arizona in the last trio.
Matched up against the Lumberjacks on Saturday, the Bobcats held a 39-33 lead by the break. Montana State had to hang on from there but still bagged the win 72-70. Xavier Bishop led the team with his 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Over on the Eastern Washington side, they managed to go 11-8 in their first 19 games before hitting a four-game losing streak in late January/early February. The Eagles have since bounced back to win games over Weber State and Idaho State.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Eastern Washington in this one. The Eagles had a sketchy run during that four-game losing streak, but the good news is that they’ve been scoring pretty well lately. Eastern Washington has hit 72 or more points in four straight games.
As for Montana State, they won at home 69-65 the last time these teams met up back on January 27. The Bobcats have been rolling along since then but they’ve also got a couple of close calls in the last pair. I think Eastern Washington just might be able to get in there.
