Iowa State vs Oklahoma 2/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oklahoma Sooners and the Iowa State Cyclones meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hilton Coliseum. Oklahoma is 14-12 on the year and fresh off an overtime loss to Texas. Oklahoma managed to post a 12-3 run over their first 15 games. The Sooners haven’t been able to string together consecutive wins since then, however. In the last pair, Oklahoma has tallied losses to Kansas and Texas. 

In the Texas game back on Tuesday, the Sooners fought back from a two-point halftime deficit and forced overtime. Oklahoma ultimately lost a tough one 80-78. Elijah Harkless lead the team on his 19 points, five steals and three boards. 

Over on the Cyclones’ side, their year started out on a nice 13-1 run. Iowa State has consecutive wins just once since then. Following a four-game losing streak to start out the month, Iowa State managed a win over TCU their last time out. 

Matched up against TCU on Tuesday, the Cyclones were down 22-24 by halftime. Iowa State hit a 32-27 run from there in a 54-51 comeback victory. Tops in scoring was Izaiah Brockington on 20 options, seven rebounds and three steals. 

The Cyclones are 1-4 ATS in their last five overall and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 as a home favorite. The under is 13-6 in Iowa State’s last 19 after a straight-up win.
Meanwhile, the Sooners are 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven overall. Oklahoma is 18-7 ATS in their last 25 as an underdog. 

PICK: I’m going to try Iowa State here. The Cyclones have really struggled over their last five games, but they’ve faced some tough opponents in that time. The good news is that Iowa State has an OT loss and a victory in their last pair, so they’re still fighting in comparable matchups. 

The last time these teams met back on January 8, Oklahoma secured a 79-66 win at home. Iowa State has played three of their last four on the road, so this game should be a breath of fresh air in a comfortable atmosphere. This one’s looking like a great matchup.
