Western Michigan vs Toledo 2/22/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Toledo Rockets will travel to University Arena (MI) to take on the Western Michigan Broncos this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Toledo Rockets improved to 21-6 on the season after defeating the Central Michigan Chippewas, 68-66, this past Saturday. Toledo had all they could handle from Central Michigan, despite being 20-point favorites, however, the Rockets were able to avoid the upset loss after a JT Shumate dunk gave Toledo a 67-61 lead with :59 seconds left in regulation. Toledo shot 44.1% from the field & 36.4% from beyond the arc while allowing Central Michigan to shoot 39.7% from the field & 30.4% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rockets was JD Shumate who had 29 points, 7 rebounds, & 3 assists.

On the season, Toledo is averaging 80.0 ppg on 47.7% shooting from the field. The Rockets are averaging 6.8 three-pointers per game on 35.6% shooting from beyond the arc. The Western Michigan Broncos had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 6-21 on the season after being defeated by the Buffalo Bulls, 87-73, this past Saturday. Western Michigan led by a 38-33 margin at halftime, however, the Broncos had no answers defensively for the high-powered Buffalo offense in the 2^nd half and could not fight back after the Bulls took a 73-54 lead with 7:45 left in regulation. Western Michigan shot 50.9% from the field & 37.0% from beyond the arc while allowing Buffalo to shoot 48.5% from the field & 33.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Broncos was Lamar Norman Jr. who had 23 points, 4 rebounds, & 3 assists.

On the season, Western Michigan is averaging 65.4 ppg on 42.4% shooting from the field. The Broncos are averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game on 33.1% shooting from beyond the arc. Western Michigan has struggled on both ends of the court this season as the Broncos rank just 302^nd in scoring offense & t-313^th in scoring defense. Western Michigan has been competitive lately, which includes a 61-57 win vs. Akron, however, Toledo was able to defeat Western Michigan by a 27-point margin earlier this season and as I think the Rockets will be able to put up another 85+ points against Western Michigan, I’m taking Toledo to cover this large road spread.
