The LSU Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Rupp Arena. LSU is 19-8 this year so far. The Tigers lost to South Carolina in their last outing. As for Kentucky, they’re sitting at 22-5 overall and coming off a win over Alabama. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

LSU hit a nice 15-1 run to open up the year. The Tigers would then win just one of their next seven outings. LSU managed victories over Texas A&M, Mississippi State and Georgia before losing to South Carolina over the weekend.

On Saturday versus South Carolina, the Tigers jumped out to a 42-36 halftime lead. LSU was outscored 33-41 in the second half four a rough 77-75 defeat. Leading scorer Tari Eason posted 21 points and 10 boards off the bench.

Over on the Kentucky side, they’ve stayed consistent this year and have yet to lose consecutive games. The Wildcats are 7-1 in their last eight; they lost to Tennessee on February 15, then bounced back with a win over Alabama in their last game.

Matched up against Alabama on Saturday, the Wildcats were down 46-47 at the break. Kentucky came back on a 43-35 second-half run for the 90-81 victory. Kellan Grady led the team on his 25 points with three boards and three assists.

Kentucky is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 at home and 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 Wednesday games. The over is 6-1 in the Wildcats’ last seven at home.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 2-7 ATS in the last nine overall. LSU is 6-2 ATS in the last eight Wednesday games.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Kentucky. There’s not much to complain about these days when it comes to the Wildcats, outside of a couple recent stumbles versus Auburn and Tennessee. Kentucky has been scoring quite well regardless lately with 71 or more points in 10 of their last 13 games.

As for LSU, they’ve hit 69 or more points in each of their last four outings and should give Kentucky an initial push in this one. I still like the Wildcats to take the game over in the second and bang out a cover, though. Should be a fun matchup.
