The Columbia Lions and the Brown Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Pizzitola Sports Center. Columbia is 4-20 on the year so far and lost to Dartmouth in their last game. As for Brown, they’re sitting at 12-15 this season. The Bears lost to Penn in their most recent outing. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Columbia managed a 2-2 run in the first four games this year, but they’ve only won two games since November 20. The Lions are riding a 10-game losing streak right now; they’ve fallen to Yale, Harvard and Dartmouth in the last trio.

Last weekend versus Dartmouth, the Lions were down 30-49 by halftime. Columbia finished on a 20-30 run for a 79-50 loss. Tops in scoring was Zavian McLean with 21 points, four rebounds, two assists and five steals in the defeat.

Over on the Brown side, they were sitting at 8-4 back in early December but they’ve only won four games since then. The Bears’ last two wins were versus Dartmouth and Cornell; in the last two they’ve fallen versus Princeton and Pennsylvania.

Matched up against Penn on Saturday, the Bears jumped out to a 46-39 halftime lead. Brown faltered on a 42-50 run the rest of the way and lost a tough one 89-88. Kino Lilly was tops with his 20 points and three assists.

The Bears are 0-7 ATS in their last seven at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five after a straight-up loss. Brown is 1-5 ATS in their last six overall.

Meanwhile, the Lions are 0-5 ATS in the last five Saturday games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. Columbia is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Brown. The Bears have had a rough run over this current 3-4 stretch, but the good news is that they’ve scored 72 or more points in four of those seven games. These teams last met up back on January 22 in a 93-74 road win for Brown. Considering Columbia has been at 66 points or fewer in six of their last seven, the Bears shouldn’t have too much trouble staying out in front if they can get their offense going early.
