Lehigh vs Army 3/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Army Black Knights and the Lehigh Mountain Hawks meet Thursday in Patriot League Tournament college basketball action from Stabler Arena. Army is sitting at 15-15 on the year. The Black Knights beat Holy Cross in their last game. As for Lehigh, they’re currently 12-18 and coming off a win over Lafayette. Army has played a pretty choppy season, but they were still 13-9 back on January 29. The Knights would then hit a six-game losing streak, however. In the last pair, Army has managed to get back in the win column versus Bucknell and Holy Cross. 

On Saturday versus Holy Cross the Knights had a 27-21 lead by halftime. Army hit a 39-37 run in the second half during a 66-58 victory. Tops in scoring on the team was Jalen Rucker with his 24 points, seven rebounds and one steal. 

Over on the Lehigh side, they won just one of their first 11 games but managed to get up to 9-14 in early February. Lehigh is 3-4 over their last seven outings. The wins in that time have been over Bucknell, American and Lafayette. 

In the Lafayette game, the Mountain Hawks outscored the opposition 44-24 in the first half. Lehigh kept the pace from there and eventually pulled off a 78-58 win. Evan Taylor was the leading scorer with 23 points and nine rebounds. 

The Mountain Hawks are 9-19 ATS in their last 28 at home and 1-8 ATS in their last nine Thursday games. The over is 4-0 in Lehigh’s last four at home.
Meanwhile, the Knights are 5-1 ATS in the last six Thursday games and the under is 5-2 in their last seven after a straight-up win. The over is 5-2 in Army’s last seven road games versus a team with a winning home record. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Lehigh here. This one’s tough, though; neither team has been all that reliable lately. In any case, the Mountain Hawks have scored pretty well lately; they’ve hit 69 or more points in four of the last five games, going 3-2 in that time. The last time these teams met up back on January 26, the Mountain Hawks secured an 84-71 victory at home. Considering Army has been pretty sketchy on the scoreboard lately, I feel a little better about Lehigh on the cover/win.
