The Alabama Crimson Tide and the LSU Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will look to rebound from an 87-71 loss to Texas A&M last time out. Jaden Shackelford leads the Tide in scoring with 16.9 PPG along with 5.4 RPG while Jahvon Quinerly has 14.3 PPG with 3 RPG and a team-high 4.4 APG to lead the Tide in assists. Keon Ellis has 11.9 PPG with a team-high 5.9 RPG to lead the Tide on the glass and to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Alabama so far this year. As a team, Alabama is averaging 80.2 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 31.3% from three and 73.1% from the foul line while allowing 76.1 PPG on 43.5% shooting from the field and 33% from three this season.

The LSU Tigers will try to bounce back from a 77-76 loss to Arkansas on the road in their last game. Tari Eason leads the Tigers in scoring with 16.8 PPG along with 6.9 RPG while Darius Days has 13.3 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead LSU on the glass and Xavier Pinson’s got 10.3 PPG and a team-high 4.6 APG to lead LSU in assists and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for LSU so far this season. Brandon Murray has 9.8 PPG and Eric Gaines has 9.3 PPG with 3.1 APG as well this season. As a team, LSU is averaging 73 PPG on 43.9% shooting from the field, 32.3% from three and 72.1% from the foul line while allowing 62.4 PPG on 38.5% shooting from the field and 27.7% from three this season.

Alabama is 13-2-1 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 road games against a team with a winning home record. LSU is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 16-5-1 ATS in their last 22 home games while the under is 14-3 in their last 17 games following an ATS win.

I get the case to be made for Alabama and the points here, but with Xavier Pinson back in the lineup, the LSU Tigers have stepped up their play a lot and almost outright upset the Razorbacks in their last game. Alabama fell apart against Texas A&M and while I’m sure that the Tide would like to get a bounce back, I just think that LSU wants it more here. Give me the Tigers laying the reasonable number at home here.
