The Seton Hall Pirates and the UConn Huskies meet in college basketball action from Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

The Seton Hall Pirates come into this one after their 57-53 win over Georgetown in their last game. Jared Rhoden leads the Pirates in scoring with 16.2 PPG along with 6.9 RPG while Bryce Aiken has 14.5 PPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers up to this point in the year. Myles Cale has 9.3 PPG with 3.8 RPG while Alexis Yetna has 8.6 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead the Pirates. Kadary Richmond has 8.8 PPG with a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the Pirates in the assist department this season. As a team, Seton Hall is averaging 74.2 PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field, 33.9% from three and 76.1% from the foul line while allowing 66.9 PPG on 40.4% shooting from the field and 30.8% from three this season.

The UConn Huskies come into the conference tournament as the #3 seed, finishing the year at 22-8 overall including a 13-6 mark in conference play. R.J. Cole leads UConn in scoring with 15.8 PPG as well as in assists with 4.1 APG while Adama Sanogo has 15.3 PPG with a team-high 8.6 RPG. I get why you could look at Seton Hall here as the Pirates had a game to shake off any rust and managed to get to this matchup. However, Seton Hall also struggled to put away a winless Georgetown team and realistically, the Pirates’ recent winning streak doesn’t feature a murderers row of opposition on the other side. Give me the Huskies to get the job done here.
