The Detroit Titans and the Bryant Bulldogs meet Monday in college basketball action from Chace Athletic Center. Detroit enters this one at 2-2 so far. The Titans lost to Florida Atlantic in their last game. As for Bryant, they’re 3-1 and coming off a win over FIU. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Detroit started out their year with a fairly easy matchup against Rochester and a 93-65 win. After that came the Titans’ first loss 70-66 to Boston College. Detroit rebounded with an 88-74 win over Ohio in their next outing.

In Saturday’s matchup versus Florida Atlantic, Detroit stumbled to a 42-20 halftime deficit. The Titans got better in the second half but still lost 76-55. Antoine Davis led the team on 22 points, and Jordan Phillips added 16 points.

Over on the Bryant side, they posted a couple of victories out of the gate versus Thomas (ME) and Dartmouth. Game three against UMFK was cancelled, and Bryant lost to Florida Atlantic in their November 17 outing.

The Bulldogs were able to recover well from the loss with Saturday’s game versus FIU. Bryant was down 51-43 by halftime but surged from there in a 91-85 comeback win. Antwan Walker led the team on 18 points and Earl Timberlake doubled with 15 points and 13 boards.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Bryant. The Bulldogs took a while to get going in the FIU game, but to their credit the team was able to stick it out for the win. Bryant shot 45.7 percent in that one with a 42-36 rebounding edge. The Bulldogs also allowed 46.0 percent shooting, so there could be some openings for Detroit in this one. I don’t think the Titans will keep the cover pace, though.
