Coastal Carolina vs UNC Wilmington 11/30/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UNC Wilmington Seahawks and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from HTC Center. UNC Wilmington comes into this matchup at 5-3 overall. The Seahawks beat North Texas in their last game. As for Coastal Carolina, they’re currently 3-2 overall and fresh off a win over South Dakota. UNC Wilmington went just 1-3 over their first four games, losing to North Carolina, Oklahoma and UConn. The Seahawks then hit a win streak, beating Mount Olive, Missouri State and Vermont in the next three. 

On Sunday versus North Texas, the Seahawks posted a 28-23 edge in the first half and hung on for a 55-51 win. Leading team scorer Jamarii Thomas put up 16 points, and Amari Kelly added 12 points with seven rebounds. 

Over on the Coastal Carolina side, they managed wins in their first two games over St. Mary’s (MD) and Methodist. The Chanticleers would lose their next pair to USC Upstate and Missouri to fall back to .500, however. 

On Saturday versus South Dakota, the Chanticleers got back into the win column. Coastal Carolina posted a 37-27 edge going into the second half and managed a 66-59 win. Jomaru Brown put up 17 points, and Essam Mostafa doubled on 14 points and 12 boards. 

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with UNC Wilmington. The Seahawks weren’t exactly great in their last game versus North Texas, but still pulled off the win versus a decent team. UNCW shot a tepid 39.1 percent from the field and got out-rebounded 41-25 in the 55-51 victory. The good news is that UNC Wilmington hit 68 or more points in their previous three straight games and should be able to put up a decent total here.
