Delaware vs Davidson 12/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Davidson Wildcats and the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens meet Saturday in college basketball action from Bob Carpenter Center. Davidson is 6-2 overall and coming off a loss to Charlotte. Davidson kicked off their year with wins over Guilford, Wright State and VMI before a loss to Charleston. The Wildcats rebounded with wins over South Carolina, Old Dominion and San Francisco in the next three. 

The Wildcats took on Charlotte in their Tuesday game. Davidson hung around the whole game but ended up falling in overtime 68-66. Foster Loyer led the team on 22 points with eight assists, and Sam Mennenga added 21 points with seven rebounds.

Over on the Delaware side, they lost two of their first three games this year to Air Force and Duke. The Hens beat Colgate and Hartford in consecutive games, then lost to Penn 86-73 in game six. 

On Thursday versus Cornell, Delaware had a two-point lead at halftime. The Hens were outscored 44-35 after that for a 74-67 loss. Jyare Davis led the way on 14 points and Christian Ray doubled on 12 points and 11 boards. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Davidson. The Wildcats took a tough loss to Charlotte in their last game despite shooting 44.2 percent from the field and bagging 17 team assists. Davidson was out-rebounded 37-28 (8-3 offensive) during the loss. That said, Charlotte is a pretty good team themselves and it was probably a coin-flip matchup. 

As for Delaware, they had a pretty good first half against Cornell but eventually succumbed to the Big Red after giving up 44 second-half points. I do think the Hens will play fairly well here and make things interesting.
