Campbell went 2-2 over their first four games this year with wins over St. Augustine and App State alongside losses to NC State and Southeastern Louisiana. The Camels would then beat Kennesaw State before a loss to Jacksonville.

On Sunday versus Stetson, Campbell was down by seven at the break. The Camels needed overtime but eventually emerged with an 87-85 win. Joshua Lusane led the team on 29 points, and Ricky Clemons added 22 points.

Over on the East Carolina side, they won their first three this year versus Mercer, Presbyterian and Hampton. After a loss to Indiana State, the Pirates beat Toledo and TX-Arlingotn before another loss to Old Dominion.

On Tuesday versus South Carolina State, East Carolina suffered another loss. The Pirates trailed by four points at the break and couldn’t recover in a 73-68 defeat. Ezra Ausar led the team on 18 points and seven boards in 19 minutes of work.

PICK: I’m going to stay with East Carolina. The Pirates lagged behind SC State for most of the game in their last appearance. ECU shot 46.6 percent from the field with 32 rebounds and 21 team assists but couldn’t slow down the Bulldogs on the other side. The Pirates have been in a scoring slump over the past two games (118 combined points) but should be able to stay ahead of Campbell.
