The Davidson Wildcats and the Fordham Rams meet in college basketball action from the Rose Hill Gym on Wednesday night.
The Davidson Wildcats will look to bounce back from a 73-70 loss to Northeastern in their last game. Foster Loyer leads the Wildcats in scoring and assists with 18.5 PPG and 5.7 APG in addition to 4.9 RPG while Sam Mennenga has 15.9 PPG and a team-high 7.1 RPG to lead Davidson in rebounding as the only other double-digit scorer for Davidson up to this point in the season. As a team, Davidson is averaging 74.2 PPG on 45.5% shooting from the field, 34.4% from three and 73% from the foul line up to this point in the year.
The Fordham Rams will try to build on an 80-77 OT win over VMI last time out. Darius Quisenberry has a team-high 18.1 PPG along with 3.8 RPG and 3.3 APG while Khalid Moore has 15.8 PPG with 6 RPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Fordham so far this year. Kyle Rose has 9.7 PPG while Antrell Charlton has 7.7 PPG with 4.1 RPG and 4.7 APG to lead the Rams in the assist department this season. Abdou Tsimbila also has a team-high 7.8 RPG as well on the year. As a team, Fordham is averaging 75.8 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 36.1% from three and 76.9% from the foul line this season.
Davidson is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games following an ATS loss. Fordham is 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 and 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.
I get the case to be made for Davidson here as Fordham hasn’t been all that good in A-10 play for a while now, but the thing here is that you could argue that Fordham has been one of the best teams in the conference prior to entering conference play. Davidson has earned the respect to be in the position they’re in here, but with how well Fordham has played at home this season, I have to side with the Rams here.
