Gonzaga vs Alabama 12/17/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Gonzaga Bulldogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from Legacy Arena. Alabama is 9-1 overall this year. The Crimson Tide beat Memphis in their last game. Alabama took a loss to UConn back on November 25. Otherwise it’s been wins over Longwood, Liberty, South Alabama, Jacksonville State, Michigan State, North Carolina, South Dakota State, Houston and Memphis. 

In the Memphis game on Tuesday, the Tide jumped out to a 36-33 halftime lead. Alabama kept the pace from there in a 91-88 victory. Leading team scorer Brandon Miller put up 24 points with eight rebounds and five assists. 

Over on the Gonzaga side, they’ve taken losses to Texas, Purdue and Baylor this year. Otherwise it’s been wins over North Florida, Michigan State, Kentucky, Portland State, Xavier, Kent State, Washington and Northern Illinois. 

In the Northern Illinois game on Monday, the Bulldogs took a 36-30 lead into the break. Gonzaga posted another 52 points in the second half for an 88-67 victory. Tops in scoring was Drew Timme with 26 points and six rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Gonzaga. The Bulldogs are coming off another nice performance versus Northern Illinois, notching 45.7 percent shooting from the floor, 18-of-21 from the line (85.7 percent), 41 rebounds and 16 team assists. Gonzaga has scored a combined 122 points in their last two games versus ranked teams, so they’re going to need to step on the gas offensively in order to keep up with a potent Alabama squad. 

Speaking of the Tide, they’ve hit 71 or more points in nine of their 11 games this year and shouldn’t have too many issues posting a big number here. I like this one to be a fairly high-scoring affair and a fun game to watch.
