The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats will travel to the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center to take on the Grambling Tigers this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The Bethune-Cookman Wildcats snapped a 3-game losing streak and improved to 8-20 on the season after defeating the Southern Jaguars, 87-84 (OT), this past Saturday. Bethune-Cookman fought back from a 70-60 deficit with just 6:05 left in regulation to force OT and was able to secure the dramatic victory after Marcus Garrett hit a game-winning three-pointer as time expired in OT. Bethune-Cookman shot 49.2% from the field & 45.5% from beyond the arc while allowing Southern to shoot 56.3% from the field & 38.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Kevin Davis who had 24 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 steal.

On the season, Bethune-Cookman is averaging 62.8 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 4.6 three-pointers per game on 32.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Bethune-Cookman has been led by Joe French (15.7 ppg, 2.7 rpg), Kevin Davis (13.9 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.2 spg), Marcus Garrett (12.9 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.3 spg), & Damani McEntire (4.6 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 1.9 apg, 2.4 spg).

Defensively, Bethune-Cookman is allowing their opponents to average 69.2 ppg on 44.5% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of -2.6 and a turnover margin of 0.7.

The Grambling Tigers dropped to 11-16 on the season after being defeated by the Florida A&M Rattlers, 79-73, this past Saturday. Grambling struggled defensively against Florida A&M and could not fight back after going into halftime trailing by a 38-26 margin. Grambling shot 41.2% from the field & 28.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Florida A&M to shoot 51.1% from the field & 36.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Tigers was Cam Christon who had 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block, & 2 steals.

On the season, Grambling is averaging 65.8 ppg on 40.8% shooting from the field. The Tigers are averaging 5.1 three-pointers per game on 32.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Grambling has been led by Cam Christon (13.0 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.0 apg), Tra’Michael Moton (10.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 3.4 apg, 1.4 spg), A.J. Taylor (7.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.0 spg), & Shawndarrius Cowart (7.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.3 spg).

Defensviely, Grambling is allowing their opponents to average 74.0 ppg on 42.0% shooting from the field. The Tigers have a rebound margin of -4.2 and a turnover margin of -0.3.

The Wildcats are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, however, are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Monday games. The Tigers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss & 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Monday games.

Bethune-Cookman has been led by their defense this season, which ranks 180th in scoring defense & 42nd in steals per game, however, the Wildcats have struggled on the offensive end as they come into this game ranked just 333rd in scoring offense & 305th in FG%. Grambling has also been led by their defense which ranks 115th in defensive FG% & 117th in blocks per game, however, like Bethune-Cookman, has struggled on the offensive end as the Tigers ranks just 300th in scoring offense & 314th in FG%.

Bethune-Cookman picked up an impressive win at Southern last Saturday, however, this is still a team that is just 3-11 on the road and lost at home to Grambling by a 68-66 margin earlier this season. Grambling has been solid at home this year, posting a 6-3 record, and as I think their defense is going to give Bethune-Cookman some trouble, I’m taking the Tigers to cover this home spread. Good Luck!
