Grand Canyon vs Loyola Marymount 12/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Loyola Marymount Lions and the Grand Canyon Antelopes meet Wednesday in college basketball action from GCU Arena. LMU enters this one at 7-3 overall. The Lions beat Nevada in their last game. Loyola Marymount went 2-2 over their first four games this year, losing to UC Riverside and UC Irvine. The Lions hit a win streak over Georgetown, Wake Forest, Morgan State and Bellarmine, then lost to Colorado State. 

On Saturday versus Nevada, LMU had a 33-33 tie at the break. The Lions hit a 31-19 run in the second for a 64-52 win. Leading scorer Cameron Shelton put up 24 points and seven boards. Keli Leaupepe added 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Over on the Grand Canyon side, they were 3-1 after four games with victories versus Montana State, SDCC and Grambling STate. The Antelopes then hit another 3-1 stretch with wins over Northern Iowa, Benedictine Mesa and Alcorn State. 

In their Saturday matchup versus Wyoming, Grand Canyon kept their win streak going. The Antelopes scored 31 points in the first half and 35 more from there in a 66-58 win. Rayshon Harrison led the way on 21 points. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on LMU. This should be a pretty good matchup regardless, though. The Lions are coming off a nice win over a good Nevada team, rebounding well after their 16-point loss to Colorado State. LMU has been scoring well lately with 71 or more points in five of their last six. As for Grand Canyon, they’ve got a couple of scoring duds on the card so far this year but overall they’re playing pretty well. I like LMU on the cover but this should be a fun game to watch.
