Kent State vs Portland 11/14/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Portland Pilots and the Kent State Golden Flashes meet Monday in college basketball action from Kent State Mac Center. Portland is 3-0 so far this year and fresh off a win versus Portland State. Portland had a manageable opener opponent in Lewis & Clark last Monday. The Pilots scored 46 points in the first half to bag an 89-62 win. Portland did well in game two versus Florida A&M also, notching 49 second-half points in a 91-54 win. 

In Friday’s matchup versus Portland State, the Pilots had their toughest matchup yet. Portland had a 42-42 tie coming out of the break, surging from there in a 98-91 win. Tyler Robertson was tops in scoring with 32 points, six assists and four boards. 

Over on the Kent State side, their year began with a matchup versus Northern Kentucky. The Flashes scored 35 points in the first half and 44 more in the second for a 79-57 win. Leading the scoring was Sincere Carry with 20 points and seven assists. 

In game two versus Baldwin Wallace on Thursday, the Flashes had another solid scoring outing. Kent State managed 41 points in the first half during a 76-55 win. Carry again led the scoring with 31 points and seven assists. 

PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on Portland. I could probably go either way on this one, though; it should be a great matchup. The Pilots had to rally in their last matchup versus Portland State, however the numbers ended up being pretty good (outside of 15 turnovers). Portland shot 48.2 percent from the field with 43 rebounds and 16 assists in that one. 

As for Kent State, this will likely be their trickiest matchup so far this year. The Flashes have been scoring pretty well this year so far though, so I like them to hang in there. Should be a fun one.
