Marshall vs Chicago State 11/21/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Chicago State Cougars and the Marshall Thundering Herd meet Monday in college basketball action from Cam Henderson Center. Chicago State is 2-3 on the year so far and coming off a loss to Kent State. As for Marshall, they’re sitting at 3-1 so far. The Herd beat Coppin State in their last appearance. Chicago State got off to a rough 0-2 start this year, falling to Northwestern 85-54 in the opener and St. Thomas MN 83-61 in game two. The next pair of games were wins over IUPUI 68-58 and Valparaiso 87-74, though. 

Chicago State had some trouble with Kent State in their Saturday game. The Cougars were down 56-28 by the break and couldn’t gain any more ground in an 88-59 loss. Wesley Cardet posted 17 points, and Jahsean Corbett doubled on 14 points and 12 boards. 

Over on the Marshall side, they took something of a surprise loss to Queens NC in their first game 83-82. The Herd were able to rebound in their second game against Tennessee Tech 91-65, then took a 95-69 win over Miami-OH. 

In game four versus Coppin State, the Herd posted a 47-32 advantage at halftime. Marshall managed a 39-35 advantage from there in an 86-67 win. Taevion Kinsey led the team on 23 points with eight boards and eight assists. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Marshall. The Herd have bounced back quite well after their opener loss, and they’ve scored 82 or more points in every game so far. Marshall managed 43 percent shooting, 49 rebounds and 21 team assists in their last game versus Coppin State. 

As for Chicago State, they’ve got a couple of good performances under their belt but they’ve struggled in a few games as well. I don’t think the Cougars will hang around too long if Marshall is on point.
